The rain held off this week and made for a very pleasant kitchen. Norma served the teas and coffees and Wendy helped with the food.

It was good to see Mark who has not been for many months. He has lost a lot of weight and looked really well. He is walking more and trying to keep fit. He is still living with his girlfriend and is managing to control his medication.

Lee has also not been for many months. You may remember he was the young man who was finishing a sports qualification this time last year and was doing very well. His brother however, was killed and he found out who did it and threatened to kill them. He says he has been in prison for 3 months but seemed very confused. He also had marks on his hands which indicated self harming. Carl arranged to meet him this morning (Monday) as he needed a supporter to get a place at the YMCA but sadly he never turned up. Hopefully he will come back next week and we can help get him into some accommodation.

Dee has been given an exclusion order for a month so had to stand at the outskirts of the car park. Carl and Sarah took him some food and drinks. They are hoping to get into Elliott House this week but the last attempt to get in there failed.

Micky (a relation of Alli) arrived having been drinking all day and the worse for wear. He had also been in a fight and was sporting a really bad eye.

Peter was sober this week and had a dog in tow. His new friend! He now has two mouths to feed which will be difficult.

John arrived at the end of the kitchen. He came out of prison 9 years ago and has managed to stay out but a couple of weeks ago a young lad stole his methadone and died. He is now due in court on the charge of assisting his death. He was in a bad way and things don’t look good for him.

Daniel (the young homosexual) came at the end of the kitchen high on something but not wine this week. It looks like he is working on the streets and is struggling with reality.

As always your prayers for the work in general are greatly appreciated.
