It was a very hectic kitchen with few volunteers. Phil was able to do the kitchen this week although his wrist is still causing him a lot of pain.

Kevin told us this week that he is going back home on 12th September having taken a consultants position in paediatric oncology. He has been in the UK for 7 years. We will organise a card in behalf of the Help Link.

It also Phil’s 70th birthday next Saturday, so again we will organise a card and possibly a cake for everyone to share.

Robert was back at the kitchen this week proudly showing off the shoes Carl had given him last week. He is managing quite well although there are no signs of housing becoming available for him.

Greg is managing quite well with trying to reduce his alcohol intake.

Lorraine’s boyfriend Bruce is in hospital. She was going to visit him after the kitchen as he was not eating the hospital food and asked if she could get some from the kitchen! He is having problems with his leg but this will not be helped by his alcohol addiction.

Lyndsey and her boyfriend had brought their bulldog to the kitchen and Peter had brought his dog, a mongrel, as well. We asked that if they are brought to the kitchen that are kept on leads and controlled or they will not be allowed to attend. They were both quite happy with this and we will monitor the situation. In the past we have had few dogs at the kitchen but will monitor the situation.

Chris seemed to be in a bad way. He was very quiet and could possibly be back on heroine.

Paul is still living rough. He will not accept a hostel place as he reckons everyone in them is on drugs. He has problems with alcohol himself but doesn’t see this as a problem. He has become friends with Duncan who has also been homeless for some time.

As always your prayers for the work in general are greatly appreciated.
