It was a busy kitchen on a very cold night.

It was a surprise to see Errol at the kitchen but I found out that he had not been sentenced as they were waiting for references. He is hoping (and sadly praying) that he gets a prison sentence today. He is not coping on the streets and has had his sleeping bags stolen ago. We were able to give him another sleeping bag. He really should be in an old persons home being looked after.

Tom and Kiera gave us the heartbreaking news that Darren (their baby) was being put up for adoption. They had backed out of the process so that their character references were not tarnished on reports filed. They will have one letter contact per year. They were naturally upset about the whole situation. I had given them the name of someone who could have helped but they had forgotten to follow it up. Sadly the consequence for them is the loss of their son.

Daniel (our young homosexual) is doing well. He has a place in Victoria House and as they do not allow alcohol has managed to stay off the drink for 3 weeks now. He has also started to do his GSCE maths at Newcastle college and has gone back to the Street Wise Opera who are planning on taking part in the Olympic celebrations.

Joseph our Polish friend, who comes along with Greg, has been beaten up badly by a “Russian Mafia” group. He is on life support in hospital.

Mark was in a very poor way. He is not managing on his medication as when he receives a prescription he takes them all at once. He has been kicking off at different kitchens during the week but thankfully was ok at ours. He could do with being in a proper unit where his medical and mental needs could be addressed.

On a positive note, Keith and Hazel are getting married at the beginning of June this year and we are all welcome to the ceremony at the Civic Centre.

As always your prayers are greatly appreciated.
