It was a tremendous kitchen this week and everyone was in a good mood. With all of the visitors it seemed like there were a lot more people there than there actually was.

Sean arrived at the kitchen having being jumped on while on way to the kitchen and his head was bleeding. We managed to clean the wound and settle him down as he was quite shaken up.

Steve has been coming for a few weeks. He has a shared flat in Blyth but struggles with the restrictions the landlord places on the tenants.

Chris came back last week after not visiting for almost a year. He is doing great. He has been off heroine for 9 months, has a flat in Heaton he shares with his girlfriend and is doing voluntary work with Lifeline in Sunderland. He is helping with the needle exchange and is gaining NVQ qualifications. He already gets a couple of paid sessions each week and is hopeful that when he finishes his NVQs he will get a paid job with them.

Nigel was 38 on Sunday but was quite down as none of his family had been in touch. He was speaking to some of the guys from Betel and they left him some contact details.

Mark was looking better than he has in a long time. He is still on drugs but is desperate to get off them. He is interested in Betel and asked that Josh ring him on Monday to discuss it further.

Phil brought a lot of pastries and cakes which were left over from the Peoples Kitchen and these went down well.

Doug came to visit, his flat is virtually all finished and all he needs now is a two seater settee and fridge. He is saving up to buy these items second hand.

As always your prayers are greatly appreciated.
