The numbers were quite high considering the awful weather. It had rained all day and continued throughout the kitchen.

Surprisingly there were a lot of new faces, and many were young. Quite a few arrived at the end of the kitchen as they didn’t know the times we operated. The majority of the new faces are actually living on the streets.

Nicola who is 32 is living on the streets and occasionally stays with friends. She has a drug problem and is due in court soon. She would like to get into a drug rehabilitation programme.

Claire is living in a flat owned by a private landlord but there are lots of drugs on the property and she doesn’t feel safe.

Duncan was at the kitchen and he looked very well, compared to recent weeks.

Sean was recovering well from the knock on his head he received last week.

We have been receiving food from The Simonside Arms in South Shields for any who want to take some away with them. This has been gratefully received.

As I had been preaching at Appleton, Warrington this week, Wendy and Richard came over to our home to start the cooking of the food. This was greatly appreciated.

As always your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Sheila Heron
