The kitchen was quite busy although a lot of our regulars were missing as they were watching the England football match.

We were fortunate with the weather too as it had poured all day but stayed dry for the hour we were out.

Kevin came up this week to take some photographs to update our web-site and enable us to do an updated presentation for annual meeting. Everyone was happy to pose for the photographs, many asking if they could do it nude!!

David and his girlfriend Lyndsey have been on the streets for a few weeks but have managed to get into separate hostels. David is in the Salvation Army and Lyndsey in one of the womens’ hostels. David has had a very rough childhood losing both his parents and a close uncle. He was living with his grandparents but they couldn’t cope so he ended up on the streets.

Donald and Findley are new to the kitchen. They have been on the streets a while but cannot get into any hostels. Their social worker is trying to get them sorted but having no success at present. We were able to give them sleeping bags.

Simon has just started living on the streets. We were able to give him a sleeping bag.

We have heard some good news about Errol. He was at Jim’s church looking well presented. He is staying with one of the other guys after the place he was staying in was boarded up. He is going for an interview today for some accommodation.

We had a lot of new faces at the kitchen this week. The age group appears to be getting younger and the amount with alcohol issues is growing.

As always your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Sheila Heron
