It was good to be back at the kitchen this week having been on holiday for 2 weeks and away preaching at Friars Green, Warrington last week.

The numbers for the past three week have been in excess of 70 for the first two weeks and mid 40’s last week. The kitchen was run by Wendy and Richard with some of the food being brought by Richard and Jan. Philip and Elizabeth have been helping out although Philip is still not well.

It was good to see some old faces this week. Jeannie has not been for over a year. You may remember her family was going through some difficult times with the loss of loved ones. She is back in Newcastle now but still needs some assistance.

Jim brought some good news that Kevin and Nicola are doing well. Kevin and Nicola came to the kitchen many years ago, both with addictions, but they have managed to sort themselves out and are doing very well. Kevin has a job and they asked to be remembered to us. We sent back our good wishes for their future.

Errol was again in a bad way again, he had been beaten up again and is back on the streets because of his drinking problems, there is very little anyone can do for him.

Duncan and Paul were in good spirits this week, they are both very appreciative of the work we do. These are ex-servicemen who have resigned themselves to staying on the streets.

We haven’t seen Dave and Lyndsey for a couple of weeks. We are hoping that they are getting the medical assistance they require.

A young man came to the kitchen who has been on and off over the years. He has just come out of prison and is on the streets. He was looking to get arrested so he could be sent back in as he cant cope on the streets. Paul has arranged to meet him to see if he can help him.

As always your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Sheila Heron
